Surviving in Nature can be described as a state of total self reliance wherein the hiker or camper is totally dependent on himself and his skills for survival. He relies on nature for his provision of food, clothing, water and shelter and considers himself as totally dependent upon nature for his well being. The aim of surviving in nature is to do things that require a lot of energy like climbing, hiking, rafting, kayaking, fishing, mountaineering, rock climbing, etc., but are done in such a way that the greatest level of dependence is maintained with nature.
Hiking, camping and backpacking are some ways to get ready for surviving in nature. There are many other ways, too numerous to mention here, that may be more appropriate for a discussion. For example, if you prefer to trek or backpack, the first thing you need is good hiking boots. Good boots will not only protect your feet from getting blisters, they will also provide you with excellent hiking boots for keeping your body temperature regulated in cold environments. To top it off, good boots will allow you to have a comfortable night's sleep in any weather condition. To be able to survive in nature for a long time you must have long time endurance, mental toughness, and good survival gear. To have all these qualities, you need to buy good quality items from a reliable store. One such high quality store is REI. Since the company began in 1958, by stocking products from around the world to provide their customers a broad assortment of products, they have become one of the best known names in the business and are known for providing excellent products and customer service When considering long time survival gear, the first item listed is waterproof clothing. Clothing forms an important part of any outdoor trip and should be able to protect you against the weather while also allowing you to move freely. An important tip on buying this type of clothing is to make sure that the material is breathable; otherwise, it will trap moisture inside and can cause sickness or even death due to mold and mildew. Since rain, snow, and extremely hot weather can quickly turn mild to extreme conditions it is important to have waterproof clothing. Another key component to long-time survival in the wilderness is being prepared in case you get lost. While many people would rather head out to a general store and get caught up in the moment, being prepared in advance can help avoid the situation. By learning about local wildlife, identifying poisonous plants and animals, and how to recognize their trail it can reduce the chances of getting lost. A map can be a great tool when lost but it is even better to know what direction to go if that is something you do not naturally know. In addition to being prepared for bad weather, water is another key element for surviving in the wilderness. It may seem simple to just have a source of water close at hand but there are certain times when it is better to seek out natural sources rather than depending on store bought products. Many people who camp out in the wilderness prefer to catch a few streams and puddle water but it is much better to find water naturally than to use store bought products that can contain harmful chemicals and toxins. Another option for surviving in the wilderness is to use a fire as a source of water. If you can catch a fire naturally, then you can cook your meals with the warmth from that fire and there is no need to store food. Whether it is boating, hiking, swimming, or camping out in the wilderness bushcraft is a great way to survive. If you want to learn some survival skills, there are many places where you can learn. bushcraft books are a great place to start because they can offer detailed information. You can also find courses at local ranches and camps where you can learn a variety of techniques. Bushcraft courses often focus on protecting yourself from the weather as well as wild creatures like bears, snakes, and insects. Learning how to safely build a campfire and other skills are important if you plan to make a living out in the wild by bushcrafting. One of the most important skills for surviving in the wilderness is boating and navigation skills. You should know how to read maps and know how to use a compass and compasses. As you become more experienced you will also learn about using the weather to your advantage. A good boating and navigation course should teach you the basics of using a GPS and how to use a compass and how to plot your course. There are many bushcraft skills that will allow you to make a living out in the wilderness and if you plan to do this type of work you should learn as much as you can before you begin.
